Office Visits

Our greatest goal is to give you the healthy, straight, beautiful smile that you’ve always wanted. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision, and we respect the reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel. Our practice will work every step of the way to make sure that your orthodontic care is as comfortable, convenient and rewarding as possible. We’ll use the latest technology, offering a variety of safe and gentle treatment options, giving you customized, individual care that you deserve.

At your initial appointment you will meet with Dr. Henry and our new patient coordinator for a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options.

During the initial examination, we will address the following questions:

  • Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
  • Is treatment needed now, or should treatment be delayed until the appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other factors have occurred?
  • What possible treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
  • How long will treatment take?

If Dr. Henry determines that the timing is right to start treatment, we will need to gather additional records. The records typically include X-rays, photographs, and articulated models of the teeth. The information that these records give us is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of the treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

Diagnostic Consulatation

After Dr. Henry has evaluated your records, we discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the fee for your specific treatment.

Getting Started with Treatment

Once your treatment plan has been reviewed and all your questions have been answered, we can get started with your individual treatment plan. Depending upon what type of treatment you need your initial appointment to place your orthodontic appliances (braces/expander) usually takes from one to two hours. After your appliances have been placed we generally see you every four to eight weeks for approximately 20 to 40 minutes.
